Pu Lung Kindergarten
In a remote corner of the commune sits Pu Lung 2, a modest site with a double job. It teaches 54 Hmong children by day, and it cooks for another school down the road.
There’s something steady about this place. The routines. The staff. The way they’ve built a rhythm around limited tools. But as more children enrol, and as nearby Dai Thanh continues relying on their kitchen, that rhythm is getting harder to keep.
Most of the equipment here is ageing. Supplies are always in short supply. But the sense of responsibility runs deep. Each day, the team cooks, teaches, cleans, and does it all again…not just for their own kids, but for another group they’ll never see, who still count on them.
That’s why solar matters here. Not for show. Not even for savings alone. But because it gives them something stable to build around. A kitchen that can keep up. A classroom that’s just a little cooler. A site that feels less stretched.
Pu Lung 2 may not be immediately striking when you see it, but it holds up more than just its own roof. It supports another, and that ripple travels further than most ever see.

What initially may just look like chaos is actually deeply infused with meaning. Ash’s work is an explosion of shapes, colour, and energy, but every line has intent. At first glance, it’s playful and wild. Look deeper, and it’s a blueprint for something more: emotion, memory, and the hidden architecture of the mind.
For this piece, Ash built a world from the inside out. The centre? The house…small, simple, stable. Around it swirls a universe of memories, thoughts, dreams, and fragments of childhood. It’s not random. It’s precise. Each element chosen, each shape carrying something personal.
Inspired by the kids themselves, Ash layered symbols of joy, growth, and imagination around the orphanage at the heart of the canvas. A gold star represents their goals. The small figures scattered throughout? Those are the children, exploring, imagining, making sense of the world.
There’s so much to see here. But the real beauty lies in how it makes you feel. Loud on the outside, quiet on the inside. Like remembering something important you didn’t know you’d forgotten.

Ash’s work may look loud, but there’s a special meaning behind it.
“In this chaotic world, we often feel powerless to control anything. But that doesn’t mean it’s the end…sometimes, chaos can be a beautiful thing, especially when it’s all we have. My point is, the world is already chaotic, so let’s find a way to see it as something we can still enjoy.“
Every element is crafted with intention, a visual language built from colour, shape, and soul.
“I hope collectors notice how detailed the art is. I put my soul into it… the shapes, colours, lines, they aren’t random. They’re deliberate. The middle is the orphanage. The star is the goal. The rest? Thoughts and memories of the kids.”
Ash’s goal with the art is clear from the beginning.
“I hope people can resonate with this. Maybe it sparks a memory, or makes them feel something real. Because when that happens, that’s when I know the soul of the work is strong.”
And in these pieces, you can feel that promise: loud, proud, and full of heart.
